About green peas
Fresh peas are one of winter's treats: plump bright green pods with sweet peas inside. Expect roughly 400–450 g of shelled peas from a kilo of pods. They need only a few minutes of cooking and are delicious in matar paneer, aloo matar, pulao and matar kachori.
Outside winter we may not stock fresh peas at all — check the stock status above.
How we pick it
We choose firm, bright green, well-filled pods and avoid yellow, dry or flat ones.
How to store it
Keep pods in the fridge and shell within 2 days for the sweetest taste. Shelled peas can be blanched for 1 minute and frozen for months.
