About banana
Our everyday bananas are the familiar long yellow variety that ripens evenly at home. We pack a mix of fully ripe and just-ripe hands, so a dozen lasts a family three to four days without turning mushy.
Bananas are sold by the dozen; a dozen weighs roughly 1.2–1.6 kg depending on size.
How we pick it
We pick firm hands with bright yellow skin, green-tipped stems and no split or black, soft fruit.
How to store it
Keep at room temperature, hanging or stem-up, away from other fruit. Refrigerate only fully ripe bananas — the skin darkens but the fruit stays good for 2–3 more days.
