About pear
Fresh pears from the hills arrive from late monsoon into autumn. Local nashpati is crisp and juicy, while babugosha is softer and sweeter. Pears ripen from the inside out, so check near the stem — it should give slightly when ripe.
A kilo is usually five to six pears.
How we pick it
We choose firm, smooth pears without bruises, cuts or soft brown patches.
How to store it
Ripen at room temperature, then refrigerate and use within 3–4 days.
